Phase Change Material modeling

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I am trying to use the Phase Change Material domain in the Heat Transfer in Solids physics for 5.5. My material only undergoes its phase change once during heating up and remains in the second phase during/after cooling. What is an easy way to turn the Phase Change Material properties on/off during a time dependent calculation?

Thank you all for your time in advance!

Here is the reply from COMSOL support in case anybody is wondering the same thing:

"Dear John,

Thank you for contacting COMSOL Support. For a such case, we recommend considering using the "Irreversible Transformation" attribute node in place of the Phase Change node by right clicking on a "Solid" domain node. This will automatically allow for the material to remain the transformed phase.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further support.

Best Regards, COMSOL Technical Support"
