Correct Boundaries in 2D (Heat transfer)

I have some troubles in applying the correct boundary conditions for my 2D heat transfer simulations. I am a real newby so it should be a simple solution.
I know the heating power (heat influx) of the face of the real object (3D), let´s say 1 W, and I want to model geometry in 2D to save time. Let´s say the object is a cuboid with the length L, height h and width W. One side, on one face of H*W, the heating power is applied and the system is the same in the width (so I do not want to model the dimension of the width). Instead, I just model a 2D rectangular object (H*L).
Can I add the geometry parameter width to the 2D recangular object (H*L)? Or how do I have to adjust the heat influx on the height side of my 2D rectangle?
