Toroidal core - two domains

Dear all, I have already managed to create a coil with a toroidal core and a toridal core with an air gap, however I have a problem when I'm trying to fill the gap with another material/domain. After adding a new geometry in the gap, I cannot assign it the new domain. Are there any examples or tutorials, how to manage this issue?
