Parametric sweep vs auxiliary sweep

I wonder about the difference between these two scenarios, whether the same parameters are swept? Whether parametric sweep affects all steps under it in the same study?

  1. parametric sweep is chosen:

    parametric sweep

    step 1

    step 2

  2. parametric sweep isn't chosen:

step 1 stationary

step 2 stationary with auxiliary sweep
