Excuse my poor english. I'm working on a comsol (5.0) model (mode analysis, RF module) on step-index fiber (2d circular waveguide), following the idea of www.comsol.it/model/step-index-fiber-145 . I'm trying to categorize hybrid and transverse modes of step-index circular 2D waveguide by checking results of FEM solver with reference books, but I have some problems about transverse modes. In particular in the case of TE/TM modes the component of E/M in the direction of propagation must be zero, but this is not the case for my project. What's the problem? Is it with FEM solver or with geometry?
If anyone would ask me I will upload my personal project (but as I previously said it is strongly related to comsol library standard model in the link).
Thank you so much
