Metalens Design App
Application ID: 117281
This is a simple yet powerful simulation app for designing a two-dimensional reflective metalens. This metalens consists of a array of glass nanopillars on a metal substrate. Initially, the app determines the optimal grating parameters for a specific wavelength and calculates the relationship between the nanopillar diameter and relative phase shift. Using this data, the app automatically constructs the geometry of the metalens. Finally, the app conducts a frequency domain study on the finalized geometry to compute the electric field around the focus.
For a description of this example app, see our accompanying blog post "Building a Metalens Design App with COMSOL Multiphysics®".
This application example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products. To determine the right combination of products for your modeling needs, review the Specification Chart and make use of a free evaluation license.
