How to Synchronize Parameters Between SOLIDWORKS® and COMSOL Multiphysics®

Using LiveLink™ for SOLIDWORKS®, you can synchronize the parameters defined for a design in SOLIDWORKS® to COMSOL Multiphysics®. In this tutorial video, we begin with showing you how to select the parameters in SOLIDWORKS® that you want to link to your COMSOL Multiphysics® model. Thereafter, we explore a few different ways that you can change the geometry with the parameters, including:

  • Changing the linked parameter values in COMSOL Multiphysics®
  • Changing the linked parameter values in SOLIDWORKS®
  • Changing the values of unlinked parameters in SOLIDWORKS®

Additionally, you will learn about the options for saving the list of parameters you have synchronized between the two programs, including:

  • Saving in SOLIDWORKS®
  • Saving in COMSOL Multiphysics®
  • Exporting a text file from COMSOL Multiphysics®

In this tutorial video, a wrench and bolt assembly is used as our example CAD design.
