Keynote: Isolation of Pulmonary Veins by Electroporation
Atrial fibrillation is an arrhythmic disease that is often treated with pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). In a keynote talk from COMSOL Day: Biomedical Devices, Andres Belalcazar goes over how to analyze a new type of technology for PVI, known as electroporation, using multiphysics simulation.
Throughout his talk, Belalcazar shares images and animations of simple geometry models and complex anatomical models. In addition, he goes over the power of modeling in designing for safety and efficacy.
Andres Belalcazar is a consultant in medical device R&D, specializing in cardiac rhythm and neuro devices, implantables, externals, and catheter-based therapies and diagnostics.
