Structural Mechanics: Adding Thermal Stress to a Model
Duration: 1:49
Heat is, or should be, involved in most every modeling application and example. Structural mechanics is not an exception. When heat is applied to a structural entity, deformation will occur due to the Thermal Stress applied to it. The Thermal Stress interface is included in COMSOL Multiphysics partially for this very reason. This video demonstrates the steps invovled and the results generated when adding a thermal stress to a bracket geometry before a load is ever applied to it. The steps shown here can be combined with the introductory bracket model. Watch the Structural Mechanics: Static Linear Analysis video to learn how to create the bracket model.
