Hello everyone,
I'm currently studying pyrometallurgical processes and it involves a lot of gas-solid interactions.
I tried a simple study in which there is a gas flow inside a tube with a solid sphere inside of it. In theory, there is the diffusion of gas coupled with reactions, consuming the reactant of the solid, much like a shrinking core model. However, I can't make it work.
Comsol has released the Shrinking Core Model feature under the Packed Bed tree recently. Has anyone been able to use it? I've been struggling to make it work, none of simulations converge when using it. The flow problem is solved, but it does not work when coupling with the mass transfer part of it.
I thank you in advance.
