Diluted species and mass concervation

Hi there,
I am trying to model a breakthrough curve of a gasmixture through a fixed bed column. I use the transport of diluted species module together with an ODE dealing with the adsorption. Since concentration changes are large, I want to use the conservation form of the diluted species module. This should modify the flow velocity when large amounts are adsorbed.
How do I implement this conservation? Do I have to add a conservation of mass equation myself to deal with decrease in flow velocity due to adsorption?
Thanks!
